Régis de Martrin-Donos was born in 1988 in Côtes d'Armor, France. He graduated with a degree in History from Paris Sorbonne IV University. Self-taught, he learned oil painting by going outside to paint in all conditions.

In search of wild and authentic landscapes, in 2021 he left to paint by sailboat in the Bay of Biscay and the Mediterranean (crossing to the Balearic Islands, crossing from Sète to Gibraltar).

In 2021, he undertook a journey of several months which took him to Rome. He exhibits his work on Italy at the Jane Roberts gallery in Paris in September 2021.  

In spring 2022, he works for two months on the colors of Provence. Then he continued his journey to paint in Spain and Portugal. He presents his work on the south at the Jane Roberts gallery in Paris in November 2022.

He completed his training by entering the workshop of Philippe Jourdain (drawing and modeling), Karine Garcia and Didier Piketty (painting).

Alongside his landscapes, he paints portraits, nudes and still lifes in the studio.

In 2022 the Carouge theater in Geneva ordered around ten canvases (16m by 7m) for the decor of On ne badine pas avec l'amour by Musset, directed by Jean Liermier.
